More on market...

I forgot to mention a couple things about travelling to Market with Ms. Red Geranium Cottage & Ms. No Blog. - You won't starve if you sit by them!!! Sharon was sweet enough to share her "Buffalo Pretzel Bites", not the official name, but boy, were they good. Thanks for sharing your stash, Sharon! By the way, apparently if you are Sharon's official travelling partner, she makes a darling bag for you. I didn't get one, but I'm trying to talk her into making it a pattern! It's so cute!!!

Our trip to market included Schoolhouse and Sample Spree. Schoolhouse is always great and really gets my creative juices flowing. Here's one of my good friend, fabric designer, shop owner and all around cool chick. She always does a school house for Timeless Treasures fabrics. She show her two new fabric lines and some brilliant marketing ideas for quilt shop owners.
Check out Sharon's pictures from Schoolhouse, she put's me to shame!!!

This year, I was able to get into Sample Spree early and avoid the crowds. Here's a picture of Gina from Quiltersbuzz/Threaded Pear Studio/Cranberry Quiltworks up on a table filming the crowds coming into Sample Spree. Be careful Gina!!

I'll be back with more market mayhem and tell you about my winning skills!

What a Market!!

Last Thursday, Marianne (my store manager) and I left for Quilt Market. We arrived at Ontario airport and tried to check in for our assigned flight only to find that it had been cancelled. The ticket agent quickly re booked us and handed us our tickets. As we walked a way, I looked at my ticket, to find that we were put on a flight that was leaving in 10 minutes!!! We started moving much faster and made it onto the plane. We were presently surprised to see Ms. Red Geranium Cottage and Ms. No Blog on our flight!!! I knew we were going to have a fun trip!!!
Since we got on an earlier flight, we had a longer lay over in Phoenix. Marianne and I went off to get some lunch and then joined Ms. Red and No Blog in the bar. This was one of my highlights of the trip!

We knew the next flight to Phoenix would be fun-filled, when we discovered we had about 20 drink tickets between the four of us!!! (I have to admit to lurking at Sharon's blog, where she mentioned drink tickets, reminding me that I had some too!) Never fear, we behaved ourselves and made it safely to Quilt Market. More about Quilt Market to come....

It's almost time!!

I'm so excited! I have so much to do before leaving tomorrow, but I'm so looking forward to going to Market. Several of my bloggy BFFs have been posting "sneak peeks" of their new patterns and fabrics. I can't wait to finally be in Houston and see it all in person.

Check out some of these "teasers"!!!

Barbara at QuiltSoup is a great big teaser! Fortunately, she's really sweet so I still love her, even though I can't see all her new pretties yet!!!

Elizabeth & Pam always have something new and fabulous in their booth!!!

Hmm, I wonder what Penny has for me?????

Well, that's it for now! I had better go pack! See you soon, Cozy Friends!

Busy, busy, busy!!!

We just returned from a quick trip to Palm Desert for my cousin's wedding. Big loser that I am, I forgot my camera. I'm relying on my sister to be emailing me some, cuz I want to show you how happy and gorgeous my little cousin, Jessica is. She married Griff and it was such a beautiful day and a fun party. Griff is from Ireland and lots of his family and friends made the trip for the big day. I can't wait to show you the pictures.

Thursday, I'll be off to Houston for Quilt Market. While it's a busy time of year and I feel guilty leaving, it's always such a great trip. My shop manager, Marianne will make the trip with me. It's always so fun to see all of my friends. We'll be on the hunt for the latest and greatest quilting goodies. I'll be sure to bring my camera!!!

Be back soon....

Happy Birthday Mom

Yesterday was my Mom's 60th birthday (Yes, she started young!!). My sister and I hosted a surprise party for her. Here are some of my favorite pictures from a fabulous party...
My baby sister, Tracy, Mom and ME!!
What a pretty cake!

What 60th birthday would be complete without a signature quilt? Here's my neice, Nicole, signing her block for her Grandma DD (AKA my mom)

The party even included a visit from the Irvine Police Department and a "Loud Party Notice" for my sister. My sister had notified her neighbors that she would have a band, but that it would finish by 10:30. Keep in mind, this is a Saturday night people! We'll the neighbor came over at 9:20pm to tell my sister that his family couldn't sleep because of the noise. They reminded him that the band would be over by 10:30, but apparently he didn't care and called the police. What a party pooper!! We had a great time in spite of the grumpy neighbor! It definately gives us something to talk about, LOL!!!

Myquiltvillage.com

Two years ago, I was invited to join a small, online networking group of quilt shop owners. These women represent some of the best in the business, so I was very honored to be included. In addition to sharing our personal and professional lives, we've created some collaborative group programs. Our latest cooperative project is myquiltvillage.com, which includes a blog that all 8 shops will contribute to. We'll also feature tips, tricks, and lots of our favorite quilting goodies. This is a dynamic group, that includes fabric designers, authors, quilting cruise coordinators, and more.

We hope you'll visit our Village!!!
