I learned to sew in Jr. High Home Ec. I made a few clothing items for myself, including quite a few "MC Hammer" style pants for myself --- Hey, what can I say, it was the 80's!!!
Any hooo, I never enjoyed sewing clothing, but instantly loved quilting. I recently tried to sew a cute little "Simplicity" pattern (oxymoron!) for my niece, Nicole. Needless to say, I quickly remembered why I don't sew clothes. I ended up so frustrated that I tossed it ALL in the trash and vowed not to ever do it again. Well, that was before I hung out at the N. Cities Quilt Show. The booth next to me had several very cute little girl dress patterns. I found one that I had to have. The good news is that it was written by Indygo Junction and was fabulously easy! I finished it one night. Here's the pattern, Shoulder Tie Topper and my version! It's so cute and easy! I promise!

OMG that is just as cute as can be!
Adorable! Now if someone in my family would have a girl. Boys, boys, everywhere.
Did you say MC HAMMER pants??? Your going to laugh but Dennis wears a pair of those around the house. I swear to you. I tried to get him to let me take a pic but so far he hasnt let me. I'll get it just you wait.
The little dress/top you made is very cute by the way!!
Yes, the dress is really cute. Kris' niece, Nicole, is the most girly-girl who loves these kinds of clothes. I saw her face (Nic's) when she was given the dress on Sun. Dad.
